We love it when a store matches it’s name and Beau Marche was definitely one of those places. If we had to think of one other word to describe it we would have to go with… enchanting.
Even though the store just opened recently, one would never guess it.
Fresh flowers filled our senses immediately and the light jazz music playing only added to the charm.
There were so many beautiful things to look at and it was pure bliss walking around, enjoying the mix of modern and vintage.
Julie, the shop owner, shared with us that many of the items in her store have come from years of collecting from flea markets around Europe, including France and Italy.
I would love to have a couple of these for my studio. My ink pads would fit perfectly!
What captured us most was the attention to detail. Every table was set…
The store front stood ready to welcome guests in…
And even the tiniest of treasures were given a place of honor.
Located back a couple streets from the Stroget, this shop is very easy to find (and it happens to be only a couple minutes from our new apartment!)
What about you? Are you drawn to shops with character and charm? Did anything in particular catch your eye from Beau Marche today?

Third picture from the bottom… are those doorknobs?! If so, I love them. I’ve always thought it would be fun to have unique doorknobs for the bathroom doors. Those would be perfect!
oh, it looks like the perfect store for me!
I can´t choose one thing, I want it all
How sweet! Those drawers the seventh photo, under the ‘A’….wait, I guess they are also in the 3rd photo, more prominently. If they are drawers, they would hold wooden stamps wonderful horizontally and vertically, I could see it hanging with a photograph or painting inside. :>
The metal boxes that could fit ink pads?! How great are those! Please tell me you have one or ten of them! I so wish I had stores and markets around here like the ones you are finding. Perhaps this just means I have to venture to other places to find them. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Time to give my passport a few stamps itself maybe.
I am thinking that little virgen in the background of one of the fotos is interesting. I bet {someone} loved her a lot at one time.
I spotted the red and green with white spot bowls in the last photo! I would most definitely like those! I unfortunatly do not have shops like that where I am but that just makes it even better when I find them elsewhere in my travels!
oh my goodness i’m in love with every shot. i think my heart skipped a beat or 2 when i scrolled to the bike image….. but definitely love every morsel.
’sigh’
what a charming place! i love it all- especially the rustic-looking shelving, the old wine glasses, the glass cloche i spy on the table- too much to mention. i’m enjoying your blog and your glimpses of copenhagen! now i so want to visit this lovely city.
